The Joseph Gregory Fernandez Memorial Scholarship

Joseph Gregory Fernandez

Applications Due: August 1st, 2025

Winner to be Announced: August 2025

Joe was smart, funny, sincere, kind, a generous son and brother, and a loyal friend.

He truly loved the electrical profession and worked hard at every task he was assigned. Joe had an amazing work ethic, was a fast learner and always helped others during his classes and on job-sites. He became a mentor and friend to all he worked with. Joe was a graduate of Northern Valley Old Tappan High School and attended The University of Rhode Island.

Joe's sense of humor and sincerity will be missed by everyone.

We have proudly partnered with the Fernandez family to offer The Joseph Gregory Fernandez Memorial Scholarship, which covers the full tuition of ETA for one student, valued at $21,000. All applicants to Electrical Training Academy are eligible to apply, however the scholarship is only offered for our September sessions.

The Michael Wirwas Women In Industry Memorial Scholarship

In our continued celebration of Women's Month, Thea Enterprises is proudly partnering with ETA Bootcamp to give a deserving woman full tuition to our pre-apprentice program.

This scholarship covers the full tuition to the Electric Training Academy Pre-Apprentice Program, valued at $18,000.

Women represent just 4.4% of electricians in the United States, and while that number is rising, it is still small compared to 95.6% of men. Thea and ETA hope to encourage more women to enter the trades with this scholarship and their support.

This scholarship was established in memory of Michael Wirwas, who was a valued member of the Thea organization for over 20 years. He was a friend and mentor to all and we hope this will continue his legacy for the next generation of professionals in the industry. We hope this will inspire and unlock more opportunities for women to enter the trades.
